Compete 4 CMV
Team Member: Andy Mignery
On December 26th, 2014 Evelyn Grace Spytek passed away due to complications following a CMV related surgey.
In her memory and in support of the National CMV Foundation, I will be running the Capital City Half Marathon on May 2nd, 2015, along with several former Michigan teammates.
Please donate. Your gift will be important, impactful and tax deductible.
Important: CMV is common, serious and preventable. 40,000 children are born with CMV every year, making CMV the leading viral cause of preventable birth defects.
Impactful: The National CMV Foundation goals are to creat awareness, share information about CMV prevention strategies and conduct community outreach initiatives, in addition to empower women to take charge of their health by giving them the tools they need before and during pregnancy.
Tax deductible: Your donation is tax deductible and you will automatically be emailed a reciept once after you donate.
I couldn't be prouder to compete for a tremendous cause and in memory of a truly wonderful little girl. Please read on and find out ways you can help the National CMV Foundation eliminate this terrible disease.
What is Compete 4 CMV?
Compete 4 CMV is a series of community based events raising charitable contributions for the National CMV Foundation. Those who choose to run, bike, swim or compete for this cause, shall be known as our CMV Crusaders.
The National CMV Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting awareness, providing access to resources, and sharing prevention information to help eliminate congenital CMV.
Previous 2014 and new 2015 donations will help fund the Foundation's website development, online and offline content creation for distribution to women, retailers and healthcare professionals in several major cities, and wearables for our Crusaders.
