We're taking the plunge into our first ever sprint triathlon! We may have bit off more than we can chew, but we're 100% committed to raising funds for the National CMV Foundation and to crossing the finish line.
The National CMV Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting awareness, providing access to resources, and sharing prevention information to help eliminate congenital Cytomegalovirus (CMV). Cytomegalovirus is a common virus that can infect anyone at any age. In fact, you or a loved one might be carrying the virus right now without knowing it because the symptoms are rarely shown in healthy immune systems. However, CMV can cause serious infections and complications among adults and children with weakened immune systems and, like Evelyn, among babies infected before birth. It's important that we boost awareness of CMV and support research for prevention, treatment, and hopefully, a cure!
We're not racing in the BostonTri for a personal best time or competitive glory (in fact, our number one priority is to survive!), but to show our support for the Spyteks and raise funds for the National CMV Foundation. Will you please help us? Compete 4 CMV! Thank you!!!
