Computers for All
Organized by: Israel Greenberg
My son and I have been in the computer repair business since 2009. We have about 30 years experience with computers between us. We live in rural Cumberland County in southern New Jersey. Cumberland county, population 150,000, has the highest unemployment and lowest per capita income in the state. Only 70% of our children graduate high school. Through our computer repair business we have been contacted by many who would like to have a computer but can't afford new. We can only help a few. It is our belief that technology afforded by a computer in every home would not only help to increase graduation rates but help the economy in this area by providing a more tech savvy workforce. We know we can buy off- lease computers in large enough lots, at the right price. Even after refurbishing and system updates we can still sell them in this area at a fraction of the cost of buying new. To be clear, monies raised will be used to purchase off lease computers in lots of 100. Further, refurbishing and updating software as well as advertising. would be part of the expense.
