BENEFITING: CAPITAL AREA CORPORATE RECYCLING COUNCIL
ORGANIZER: CAPITAL AREA CORPORATE RECYCLING COUNCIL
CAPITAL AREA CORPORATE RECYCLING COUNCIL wrote -2013 saw an unemployment rate of 9% for all Gulf War-Era II veterans with 29% reporting a service-connected disability. Although these numbers have edged down slightly from recent years, they are disheartening nonetheless. Our military service men and women should be afforded every opportunity to prove that they can fill a positive role in our nation's workforce.
Computers have proven themselves as essential tools for gaining employment, whether it be searching job openings, preparing resumes, or contacting potential employers. Without a desktop or laptop, a returning veteran has limited opportunity to find the services they need.
In an effort to help combat the unemployment rate of our veterans, the Capital Area Corporate Recycling Council has expanded their community computer program to now offer US Veterans discounted laptops and desktop computers. The CACRC is asking for your help in raising $17,500 to underwrite the cost of donating a laptop or desktop computer to 100 unemployed veterans. Please help the CACRC show their appreciation to these courageous women and men who risk their lives in service of us all.
The Capital Area Corporate Recycling Council is a nonprofit organization committed to electronic scrap reduction by providing recycled computers and equipment to schools, nonprofits, and low-income families through the generous contributions of supporters, which include business, nonprofits, individuals, and federal agencies.
