Concert for Brotherhood
Organized by: Rodrigo Villaseca
"Concert for Brotherhood" is a musical event that seeks to unite young, disenfranchised, suburban and semi-rural youth in Chile (South America). The turmoil of chilean politics of the last forty years, has created deep divisions in chilean young people, and a vacuum of constructive values, and principles. Hopelessness, rejection of authority, lack of Faith, mistrust of adulthood, abuse of drugs, and other self defeating conducts, contribute to create the conditions for a cycle of such behaviors with anti social impact. We seek to propose change, breaking that cycle, through rock music. Two chilean rock bands, Sacros and La Fé, joined forces to put together a rock concert program event we named "Concert for Brotherhood". Youth, and adults of all walks of life, political beliefs, religious, and social affiliations ethnic backgrounds, and more, can come together in an atmosphere of trust, fraternal love and peace, to hear contemporary christian oriented secular rock. The concert event takes place outdoors, in parks and plazas accesible to all residents of suburban, and semi rural townships around Santiago, the Capital City of Chile. Each concert has a cost of US=$1,500, that cover all costs of infrastructure, such as sound reinforcement, stage and transportation of equipment. No artificial lighting is needed since the events are held in the late Summer afternoons, for maximum family attendance, during January, 2017. Of course, all events are free of charge. We would like to bring the concert to as many suburban , semi rural communities starting with six communities this January. Every contribution is entirely dedicated to financing the mentioned infrastructure. Both bands members contribute on volunteer basis. All personal costs are are covered by the members themselves, including travel and stay.
