Connor LaFrance was a determined athlete. He was prepping for the Red Bull Rookies Cup tryouts at Barber Motorsports Park. He was out on his CRF450 motocross bike, getting some sight-in laps under his belt, while his dad, Dave was getting his RS125 ready to go. Connor was out for his second session when, he sat up on the bike coming down the straight between turns 8A and 9. Before the entrance to T-9, Connor raised his left arm to signal he was slowing down and when he looked over his left should to clear before he entered T-9, he veered RIGHT off the track and impacted the ARMCO barrier. He crashed right near a waiting ambulance crew who treated him until a Life Flight could arrive. Connor was airlifted out to Birmingham Children s Hospital which is a Level-1 Pediatric Trauma treatment facility. After fighting for six hours, unfortunately Connor passed.
We want to keep Connor's spirit alive and one of the ways for us was to create the Foundation to provide assistance to student athletes. There are two separate forms of assistance through the Foundation and also a scholarship fund has been set up through Saratoga Youth Hockey.

The first avenue is to support local student athletes who are competing on the national level and need financial support to be able to compete at a specific national race or meet. This sponsorship is open YEAR ROUND and all you have to do is write a letter to the Board and ask!! (Follow the application details listed below for the Senior Scholarship). This is for anyone participating in any sport! Also, if you are a youth organization that promotes youth athletics, please write us and tell us how we can help.

The second avenue is for SENIORS of Saratoga Springs High School. Two different scholarships are available to you!! One through our Foundation and one through Saratoga Youth Hockey. See below for the details of both programs. I know, Connor would be smirking to know he had scholarships at the high school in his name, but we are awarding on athletics, which he would approve!
