BENEFITING: Chiari & Syringomyelia Foundation
After many years of aches and pains, dizziness, and headaches my little sister, Haley, has been diagnosed with a Chiari Malformation. A Chiari Malformation is a condition in which the brain descends out of the skull and compresses on the spinal column. Sounds fun, right? With that being said, it is a very dangerous and painful condition. In March of 2015, Haley underwent brain surgery to alleviate the condition's nasty symptoms. With another surgery to go and a long road ahead, we decided to raise awareness about Chiari.
After I saw the bravery of my little sister going through surgery. I finally got the courage to do something I always wanted to do but never thought I could. I will be running the Atlantic City Marathon in October. My goal is to raise $1,000 for the research institute that helped Haley through this ordeal, as well as spread awareness. I am hoping that by doing so, someone will take their headaches a little more seriously and ask their doctor about Chiari.
No amount is too little- we appreciate you! Please share this page to help in our journey.
