BENEFITING: BRIDGE TO THE NATIONS
EVENT DATE: Jul 15, 2015
There are Indigenous migrant communities in central Mexico who live in agricultural camps in impoverished conditions for up to 9 months of the year working at large agro-business complexes that supply produce to major grocery chains in the United States (http://graphics.latimes.com/product-of-mexico-camps/) To continue serving the families of these Communities, Bridge To The Nations recently acquired a piece of land. We are in need of funding to start construction of a small staffing house and a community room. The staffing house will have basic living amenities to support a small staff. The community room will be used to hold community gatherings, to run literacy and parenting programs, to offer an after school and arts program, and build a food pantry program.
