Cool Learning

A fundraising campaign to put Solar powered AC units on every portable classroom in the state starting with Oahu.

Family First Solar is donating 3 Solar Powered Air Conditioning units to DOE schools, but we need your support!

The next 2 schools that raises $16,000 for one Solar A/C unit will have an additional unit donated by Family First Solar. Family First Solar donated its first Solar off-grid A/C unit to Farrington High school.

This is a Community Social Fundraiser, so the 2 first schools to raise $16,000 wins a Free unit BUT every school WINS by fundraising !

Fundraising Details:

The funds raised the COOL LEARNING campaign go into an overall pool. Family First Solar will donated $16,000 in equipment and installation to 3 schools,  one a/c unit per school, 3 a/c units total. $48,000 in total donations from Family First Solar.

100% of these these funds will go toward a/c units in Oahu schools.

How the lucky schools are chosen:

- 3 schools will receive A/C units donated by Family First Solar, irregardless of total dollars raised by this campaign! Farrington alreday WON one!

- The first 2 schools that raise $16,000 are the lucky schools. They would have raised enough for one unit on their own, and Family First Solar will donate one additional unit. For a total of 2 units per winning school.

- If 2 schools do not raise $16,000, the top fundraising schools (by $ amount) are the luck schools that will have the donated units installed by Family First Solar. The funds raised by the COOL LEARNING campaign will be used for purchasing A/C units for the top fundraising schools, these units are in addition to those donated by Family First Solar.

This is the first time in Hawaii's history that a private entity has volunteered to match donations of such high dollar amount for school cooling. Please don't let this opportunity slide by!

The facts on school cooling:

Hot classroom creates health related concerns

Cool schools facilitate an optimal learning environment

Only 12 Of the 255 Schools have AC (1,500 Portables)

Many Oahu schools this year had classroom temperatures of over 100 degrees.

Long-term solution estimated to cost $1.7 billion.

2 of 10 students are absent 15+ days out of school year do to heat

Why Family First Solar:

Solar powered A/C means cooling our students in sustainable and reliable manner.

Our installation process insures that the solar power can potentially be stored and used for emergency power.

Taking our classrooms off the grid means, more power supply on the grid, which gives all of Hawaii lower power rates and a smaller carbon footprint.

Family First Solar was founded on the idea that solar power can not only improve our economy and environment, but can give families a more reliable and cost effective source of power. Power is a necessity, and we want to make this important resource available to every family in Hawaii. That is our mission and our commitment: Affordable power for everyone.
