Global Village Institute via Crowdrise
June 06, 2011
Since the 1970s the Global Village Institute for Appropriate Technology has been at the cutting edge of redesign of the human built environment -- our "cultivated ecology" on planet earth -- making it more sustainable by reeling it back in to a partnership with nature instead of a war. Now GVI is launching a new project -- the Institute for Coolo-nomics -- to explore carbon-negative lifestyles: cool foods, cool clothes, cool buildings, cool energy, and cool villages -- that help heal the broken carbon cycle and bring back a cool planet.
Besides money, we'd like to raise interest, imagination and a volunteer corps of designers (logos, brands, architecture, fashion) to take this beyond the already imagined. Interested? Jump on it!
