BENEFITING: Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Apr 05, 2014
On Saturday April 5, I ran the Cooper River 10 K in Charleston, SC. The Copper River Bridge Run is one of the best-organized 10-K races in the world. It included walkers to elite runners in a very unique setting. The 6.2 mile race began in Mount Pleasant, SC and followed the Cooper River Bridge over the Cooper River into Charleston.
I ran this 10K, for the third time, in honor of my sister in law, Wendy Olson. Three years ago in early April 2011, Wendy passed away, after losing a long battle with Brain Cancer.
This year I was so happy to have other family members participating in the race with me. My father, Walter, and my brother, Jon, participated in the 10k as well. We all completed the race last year and were so excited quite to cross over that bridge again together as we honor Wendy’s amazing life.
In hopes to continue further Cancer Research, I am asking you to donate, if you can, in honor of Wendy. I know doing the Bridge Run will not bring Wendy back to us, nor will it ever be able to take away the loss we all feel. But my wish is to honor Wendy’s never-ending determination and courageous spirit as Walter, Jon and I used our inner fortitude to complete this challenging race.
May we all be inspired by life, as Wendy was when she was here with us.
