Cooperstown or Bust 2014
Organized by: Doug Longoria
We are hoping to raise money to get our 12yr old son Charlie to Cooperstown, New York to play in the prestigious Cooperstown 12U National Tournament. Charlie lives for baseball and is very good at his craft. He plays 3rd base, catcher, outfield and pitches. He is part of a very special group of teammates and helps complete the team. His team has been together for years and have had success at the National level. They plan on competing for the Championship in Cooperstown.
As hard as Charlie plays baseball he knows he must has the same focus and attitude about school. It is imperative thta Charlie maintains a solid GPA and completes all his homework on time in order to play ball. In addition to that he must do his chores and keep his bedroom clean (remember his is 12)! Charlie knows the importance of serving his community and giving back. He volunteers at our church and mows the lawn of our elderly neighbors. Charlie is also a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, plays basketball, rides his mountain bike, loves to fish and pretty much does what most 12 yr old boys do. Get dirty and have fun!
Charlie is also kind and giving, in fact, last Christmas he found a $100 dollar bill in the parking lot. The first thing he did once he calmed down was to buy a video game he wanted then he took the remaining balance and split it with his 2 sisters. The point is tha Charlie is a good kid and we want him to be able to have this "once in a lifetime" experience with his teammates.
I am asking for this assistance because of a year and half of umemployment we are limited to any discretionary funds to help make this come true. We are doing car washes, bowl a thons, and mowing lawns to help make this dream become a reality. If you want to help Charlie get to Cooperstown just follow the directions on this page.
