In April of 2015 we lost a close friend to ALS. Don Young was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend. He faced his diagnosis and prognosis with the humor with which he approached everything. That wasn't an easy task to do; but he and his family faced his disease with honesty and made sure to live life while they could. He traveled and he experienced. He worked to become closer to those around him and to those friends with whom he had lost touch. I have never seen someone so surrounded by love! He collected people. He frequently filled rooms with neighbors, childhood friends, family, coworkers, and so many others. He began a blog titled "Hope is Denial" in which he wrote his observations on a life that was coming to a close. His writing is poignant, funny, loving, and insightful and surprisingly comforting to read. In all of it we find repeated messages for those of us still here. Don leaves an impressive legacy behind him. Deanna, Jackie, and Alex - we love you. 2Young4ALS.
