Cornell University's Ottoman & Turkish Studies Initiative (OTSI) is spearheading a fundraiser by the Cornell community to send displaced students in refugee camp in Jordan back to university! AMAL along with Jusoor-Syria (American-registered charities) are working to send university-ready refugee students from the UN Zaatari Camp in Jordan to universities in Jordan.
For every $16,000, a student gets to go to university for a 4-year degree (Bachelors), which as we all know will change her/his life and the lives of his/her family and friends.
Despite the terrible situation at present, we CAN do something for the future NOW. Please donate, fundraise, get invovled and let them know that the Cornell community cares about students from all over the world. Through this project, the Cornell community and displaced students in Jordan can engage in dialogue through virtual cultural exchange, building bridges of mutual understanding.
Univeristy students who happen to be refugees now, not unlike Cornell students, will be the next generation of global leaders. Let's help our global community of educators and students.
