Cortney's Volunteer Experience: Surgical Brigade to Honduras
Organized by: Cortney Ramlet
EVENT DATE Oct 18, 2014
Have you ever felt worried for a loved one who has needed prompt medical attention? You may have needed surgery yourself or even your child has. Have you felt the joy after surgery knowing that the pain and discomfort would be resolved? Many orphans and families do not know when or if they will be able to receive the care they direly need. Will you consider donating for medical expenses towards the Surgical Brigade to Tegucigalpa, Honduras this October? With your help, a team of surgeons, nurses and other volunteers from the Eau Claire area will be able to perform surgeries on those who are less fortunate than us.
My name is Cortney Ramlet, and I am a nurse at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire. After great thought, I have decided to donate my time and money to provide surgical nursing care on the mission trip to Honduras with Dr. Parisi and Dr. Johnson. I have already paid for my flight and food. We will be staying at the orphanage Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH). Surgeries will be preformed from 6 am to as long as 6 pm at the Holy Family Surgery Center in Honduras, during the week I will be there (October 18-25). I am asking you to spread the word and help donate towards medical supplies and/or other medical needs that will be needed on this Brigade. Any amount that you are able to give is very much appreciated. Thank you!
