We are the family and friends of a special young man named Cory. Cory is eleven and he has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a fatal neuromuscular disorder that strikes 20,000 boys yearly worldwide. Young men with Duchenne lose all muscular function by the time they are in the teens and rarely live to see their thirties. By the time they are in their 20s they are completely wheelchair dependent; during their 20s and 30s they lose all muscular strength including heart and lungs.
Cory's Champions was formed as a fundraiser in support of Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD) an organization dedicated to funding research and medical support for families living with Duchenne. We invite you to join our team and/or to donate to Cory's Champions to raise money and fight for Cory's life and the lives of thousands of wonderful boys just like him. The only way to improve treatments and to find a cure for Duchenne is through continued funding for the dedicated researchers and medical professionals desparately seeking to end Duchenne.
