Picture three young women you know. Imagine 2 of these never having had the chance to gain secondary education, never receiving high school.
How different would their lives be from what they are now? What limitations would that put on their potential ?
This is the situation in Nepal. Only 1 out of every 3 women aged 20-24 have had secondary education.
I am a young Australian woman. I have been educated throughout my entire life with limited expense. I continue to study to further my education and my potential, which is possible simply because I was born in Australia.
The thought of other women my age not having the same opportunities that I have had, simply because of the situation they were born into, makes me want to GET UP.
To get up, go to Nepal and help out in anyway I can. By sharing my skills, experience and hope.
So thats what I'm going to do!
I'm going to Nepal in November to help build accommodation, so young women in rural Nepal will be able to go to school. The project is in the Everest region of Nepal, 10 hours hike from the nearest airstrip. The conditions will be minimum (homestay with a local family with no running water, 2 vegetarian meals a day and heavy labour) but it will change these girls lives forever - and mine.
You either have the time or the money to donate, I've got the time, just need a hand with the cash. The trip is costing me about $6000, so any help with the project fee of $1700 would be fantastic. Any extra will go straight to the edge of seven charity. And yes, it's all tax deductable!
