We need your help! There is a major pollution problem on some of Costa Ricas Rivers. Its true, Nat Geo claims the Rio Pacuare to be one of the cleanest & most scenic whitewater destinations on earth. But did you know just across the mountain, the Rio General too is a wild river with beautiful scenery all around. Sadly it is a nasty river too. Del Monte Corp. has planted pineapple farms all through the hillsides and country villages. Pineapples are great, but the farming methods used are not. Soil erosion, and heavy pesticide use has created a huge problem here. When it rains, the pesticides and soil washes down hill and directly into the rivers. It is costing the country the lost of its lifeblood, rivers. Help us initiate a clean up and a proposition to clean the General river and take initiative to recover this national treasure. Costa Rica is a land filled with wild and fast whitewater. Its paradise for thrill seeking boaters! Help me create an initiative to keep the waters of Costa Rica clean. I need help raising funds to create awareness along the banks of these waters. Local corporations dump their waste and chemical tailings in these once pristine waters. Rivers such as the great General are now a refuse of dangerous chemicals. I can converge with local peoples in the community and get others involved in a river clean up. I will take the local people down rivers to see its beauty and to clean sweep the rivers eddies and banks. Help me make this happen and we can preserve the beauty of this country one river at a time! The goal is $20,000 usd. With it we can pay for the equipment usage, and time spent on the water and banks to clean out the trash, film & document the initiative, and teach the local farmers and villagers the environmental effects of Roundup, and generally about how to keep our rivers clean. Thank you so much! With your help we can make a difference.
