BENEFITING: COULD YOU?
Could You Do It For Love?
Jared Cotter, American Pop/ R&B singer and songwriter went to Mozambique in 2010 with the organization CouldYou? (To learn more information check out www.couldyou.org). While Jared was walking through Mafalala, a very poor community, he heard an album he co-wrote with Jay Sean, blaring out of a tin roofed home. Kids in rural communities with no shoes, knew the words to his #1 hit song titled "Down." This touched Jared, and he realized that it was backwards that these kids knew his song, but had no shoes or proper education. This caused him to go back to America with the conviction to make a difference in Mozambique. Jared is now teaming up with Kuka, an incredible Mozambican pop artist with a shared passion, and they will be making an incredible music video together called "Do it For Love."
All proceeds raised from the music video will go to CouldYou? for their education pilot in Gumbane Village, a community of 1300 people with no access to clean water or electricity. The Gumbane pilot will include a proper water well, a community garden to serve as a school feeding program, and solar powered tablets to increase literacy.
Why You should give to this Cause:
Mozambique is the 4th poorest country in the world
66% of the people are illiterate in Mozambique
Many of the people in Mozambique do not have clean drinking water
Could You make it possible for Jared and his team to travel to Mozambique so he and Kuka can use music to transcend culture and transform a community?
Could You DO IT FOR LOVE?
