My Aunt Alison is a breast cancer survivor, and she just celebrated her tenth anniversary as a survivor! She now works with the American Cancer Society, and helps fundraise and bring awareness to the organization. She is such a positive beacon of light in my life, and her amazing outlook inspires me to live my life to the fullest. From her, I have learned to see the positive in every situation, no matter how murky it may seem at first glance.
I started boxing because it looked like a good cross training opportunity for roller derby (the sport that takes up the rest of my time) and just plain fun! I met some women who were training to participate in Haymakers for Hope at the gym. The positivity, grace, and unique twist of the organization made me want to get involved.
I am fighting not only to raise money and awareness, but to challenge myself and channel my aunt’s positivity in all things. I know this will be a grueling journey, but it will absolutely be worth it, no matter the outcome on fight night. I enjoy a challenge, and this is going to be a great experience.
Thank you for visiting my page, and for contributing to my fundraising total!
