BENEFITING: NOBLE AND GREENOUGH SCHOOL
EVENT DATE: Apr 19, 2016
"If you want something you've never had, then you've got to do something you've never done." – Unknown
Hi everyone, and thanks for visiting my page!
I'm training to run the Boston Marathon this year. This is both a terrifying and exhilarating experience for me – because I know it's a big ask. A big ask of my legs, a big ask of my family to put up with all the time I'm out on the road (and maybe when I come home grumpy and dehydrated), and a big ask of all of you.
I'm training for the Marathon because my fundraiser will benefit one of the most important institutions in my life – The Noble and Greenough School, where I attended middle and high school, and specifically the Nobles Marathon Fund (the largest single scholarship fund for the school), which is directly responsible for raising the funds for eight scholarships.
To put it more simply, 26.2 = 8.
As the recipient of financial aid while at Nobles, I'm so thankful that this tradition continues to be held every year, and that I'm finally in a position of being able to contribute to something I have benefited so greatly from. It's an empowering feeling.
Though I'm still young and my own definition of "success" is a work in progress, the foundation of a love of learning that is the bedrock of the Nobles community has been with me at every step. It will be with me at every twist and turn in my life, and I'm forever grateful for that. I can't wait to contribute to a crop of new highly-deserving students being able to attend Nobles and enrich the ever-growing body of graduates that are changing their communities.
So, I humbly request your donation to the NMF and your support as I take on this challenge. Please feel free to reach out if you'd like to ask questions, join me for a run (I'd love that!), recommend a running playlist, endorse a specific brand of high-tech endurance food, or even offer the occasional taunt to bait me into a personal competition. You know I'm game.
Thank you in advance, and lots of love! – Courtney
