Employment Retention Program for Homeless Youth
Organized by: Amanda Savishinsky
Covenant Works provides employment and educational resources for over 300 homeless youth 18 to 21 in our NYC shelter.
I am currently improving our employment retention program by developing our youth to prepare them for long term employment success. My retention services include one-on-one career counseling, employment skills workshops to improve job retention, and a Retention Incentive Program.
My goal is to raise $4000 to better serve Covenant House youth and help them achieve their career goals. The $4000 will provide one year's support for our retention program.
Funding will go towards...
1) Employment retention incentives (such as Metrocards for getting to and from work)
2) Providing a hot meal and refreshments to our homeless youth participating in our retention workshops
3) Materials that will significantly improve the quality of our retention workshops to provide a more hands on approach to learning employment skills.
