A parent of one of my students is a piano technician and he has already done the hard work of repairing, cleaning, and tuning the grand piano in my classroom that has been out of commission for several years. Now that it is back in playing shape, we want to keep it that way.
We want to get a new piano cover that will protect it from dust, paper clips, staples, pens, pencils, paper scraps, bobby pins, paper airplanes, cootie catchers, or any of the other random things that end up in the nooks and crannies of a school. In addition to the cover, we would like to get a proper piano bench that is adjustable to the height and playing comfort of the several adults, and even students, that play the piano on a regular basis.
Already at 32% going into Day 2 and I thought I'd add that any extra funds raised beyond the cost of the piano cover and bench will go towards choir expenses for new music, uniforms, attending festivals, and any other ongoing costs of the program.
