Dr. Herbert L. Kee a highly regarded neighborhood family doctor, retired from medical practice in 1997. He has always been involved in community issues. A founding member of the Chinese-American Planning Council, and an early supporter and volunteer oftlie Chinatown Health Clinic. Dr. Kee started out as an engineer but was inspired by Dr.Mellon at tlte Hospital Albert Schweitzer in Haiti. He clianged to the field of medicine and served as a neighborhood doctor for Chinatown and the Lower Eastside. He is tlte elected Democratic Distict Leader for tlte 64th Assembly Distictf(PartD).
Virginia M. Kee
For over three decades Virginia Kee has been a dedicated teacher in a NYC public junior high school. Site is known as everybody's favorite teacher. She is a respected community leader in tlte Chinese-American community. Site is A founding member of tlte Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC),tlte Largest and most comprehensive non-profit service organization serving the needy and poor Asian-Americans in NYC. She is a past Chair and continues on the Board of Directors. An active member of the Democratic Party, in the 80s she Jtelped to increase Asian-American participation by inserting the requirement that there should be Asian American delegates to the Democratic National Convention. Virginia served as a delegate to five Presidential Conventions. In 2000 and 2004 site served a a Presidential Elector.
Dr. Herbert I. Kee and Virginia Kee have received numerous community service awards for their outstanding contributions to improvement of the community.

The CPC Walkathon & Family Day Fair showcase diverse cultures, celebrate the grassroots efforts of community based social service agencies and most importantly advocates for the need for social services in New York City's three largest Chinese-American communities: the Lower East Side, Manhattan; Sunset Park, Brooklyn and Flushing, Queens.
This community event rallies to support the wide range of social service programs that are offered by CPC. It ensures we have resources to provide strong social services and continue programming in innovative ways.
This summer, CPC will bring together over 5,000 people from across NYC for our Walkathon & Family Day Fair to celebrate generations of community service.
