BENEFITING: CHICAGO PARKS FOUNDATION
ORGANIZER: CHICAGO PARKS FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Oct 09, 2016
I started running around parks last year just to get my mind off of things and because I stopped going to the gym. It's an amazing journey and it has helped me develop a better mental attitude. I started running just because I went out everyday and had a lot of free time in the summer that would've been wasted playing games. Plus, I couldn't even run a mile without getting tired, but as I ran more and more, I started running 2 miles, then 3, and I couldn't stop there. I can easily run long distance today and an hour can pass by without me noticing. It's the best feeling in the world. I thought about joining long distance runs and, what the heck, I'll start by commiting myself to the Chicago Marathon. I've always wanted to be a participant and this is my first step toward that goal. And that's why I teamed up with the Chicago Parks Foundation, I wanted to make a difference in two things that I care about very much. I'd like to thank the Chicago Parks for giving me so many places to play and a beautiful park to run through. I hope you feel the same you as I do and that we could combine our efforts to help the parks become an even better place for us and the the future generations.
