Craig Austin is a 50-year-old man in need of a new kidney. In 2002, he was diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) and has spent the last 14 years on dialysis. His only chance to return to good health is to have a kidney transplant. Let me tell you a little about Craig. He was born in Waterloo, IA and moved to Minnesota at the age of three. In 1986 he relocated to Atlanta, GA where he met the “love of his life,” Tracey. Craig and Tracey were married in August 1989 and moved to Hampton, GA where they raised two sons, Avery, 25 and Jacoby, 17. Craig’s hobbies include watching cooking and home improvement shows and spending time with his family. It is for them that he wishes to live his life free of dialysis. Transplants are life-saving but financially draining. Even with insurance, Craig will have many uninured transplant-related expenses such as: co-pays and deductibles, lab and doctor fees and the costly anti-rejection medications that he will need to take for the rest of his life (estimated to be up to $2,000/month). To help with this financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Craig’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southeast Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. To make a donation today, please click the DONATE NOW bar. Thank you in advance for your support of Craig during this time. Please know that all donations, no matter what their size, are gratefully appreciated. Together we can make a difference for Craig. Sincerely, The Family of Craig Austin
