I am a 15 esophageal cancer survivor that is now on disabliity and going between home and Dr. appointments several days every week but not able to much else requiring steady scheduling or physical stamina. Over the years, I have been an active volunteer with our the local Catholic Churches, public schools, Boy Scouts but that all went by the wayside 3 years ago when neuropathy from chemo, radiation and Type two diabetes kicked in. Since I am at home most days I have been thinking about the needs homeless and hungry people in my local area, esophageal cancer research and treatents for new victims, disabled Veterans, etc. (Yes I have a lot of time on my hands.) I when I came upon CrowdRise I decided to try my hand at fundraising for some of my favorite charities to help them out.
I may be fairly well home bound but I have been working with computers since DOS so let's see if we can make a difference, even if we can't be counted on to work or volunteer a steady schedule any longer?
