What are some of your memories from summer camp? Swimming, hiking, and walking barefoot in the grass are likely at the top of that list. After another long, cold winter we’re finally getting a taste of summer weather, and are gearing up for this year’s summer camp at Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center in Oregon, IL, where 46 school aged children from CRCL programs plan to spend four days in July. In order to make this experience a reality for our youth, we need your support. Most families contribute $50 towards the cost of the camp, but the full cost is $250 per child. For most of the young participants in our summer program this will be their first opportunity to explore the natural world and travel beyond the boundaries of their neighborhood. Camp provides engaging and safe activities, and mitigates the stress felt by children who are aware of the tensions in their neighborhoods or homes. Summer camp is a time to rest and recharge, to try new things and create lifelong memories and friendships. Donations of any kind will help us get to our fundraising goal of $11,000. Increments of $5, $10, $15, and $20 all add up. Help us make this the best summer experience for our kids; camp only lasts four days, but the memories and experiences last a lifetime. Thank you for your consideration.
