Art Works Now empowers our children through visual art experiences!
Access to creative expression contributes to a more thoughtful and engaged citizenry.
And there is a crisis in our schools – access to arts education is disappearing!
Research shows that the arts improve students’ performance in the core subjects, standardized tests, and school attendance. But most students in our county receive visual arts instruction four times a year at most – this puts all of our children at risk.
Art Works Now is committed to fill that need.
We need your support for our At School After School program.
At School After School provides art curriculum to several area elementary schools. In some cases, we supply weekly after-school art education to children who have little or no visual arts curriculum in their regular school day. In addition, we are partnering with a local elementary school to provide art education curriculum during the school day – to over 500 students!
Currently our programs in four nearby elementary schools serve over 200 children every week. We provide content-rich curriculum focused on connecting art to the lives of these children and exposing them to historically significant and contemporary artists.
We offer this program during the entire school year at little to no cost to families, and while we keep our costs low, we rely on grants, in-kind donations, and fundraising to make it all possible.
Can we count on YOU for your support?
What does your donation fund?
$25 – clay for 200 children to create their first pinch pots
$50 – a scholarship for one child to attend a session at his or her school
$100 – a year of art supplies for one child
