BENEFITING: National Fragile X Foundation
EVENT DATE: Jun 01, 2013
Fragile X syndrome (FXS) is the most common cause of inherited intellectual disability and the most common known genetic cause of autism or autism spectrum disorders. It can cause learning and behavioral challenges ranging from mild to severe. Over 1,000,000 individuals nationwide have, or are at risk, of developing a Fragile X disorder. Three of our children are affected by Fragile X.
Join the Fragile X Families of Northern Virginia for our first annual walk. Our group is comprised of parents who are dedicated to ensuring their children with Fragile X Syndrome have the best opportunities possible. Whether it's their education, therapy or their adult living situations - our goal is to ensure our children are maximizing their abilities. We are raising funds to access qualified experts for our children and providing the latest therapeutic strategies and learning methods.
Won’t you please join us to help raise both awareness and critically needed research dollars!
