Our mission is to transform the lives of school age children, ages 5-18, in the neighborhoods in which we operate by developing intense instrumental music, vocal music and dance programs that promote artistic excellence and character building. Using a youth-centered approach we offer a comprehensive program that also includes literacy and life skills classes, homework support, and daily meals and snacks.
The Crescendo Pathways Program is a partnership with The University of Michigan and Michigan State University Schools of Music and Dance. Many of our students will be first generation college students and it is our goal to give them the university experience at a young age in order to foster the desire to attend a college or university. Our students will receive private lessons on both campuses from music education students, attend concerts at Hill Auditorium, the Wharton Center for the Performing Arts and attend sporting events on both campuses. In addition, this partnership would create opportunities for our staff to monitor university faculty master classes and allow for university faculty to offer staff development to our Crescendo team.
