Team Joseph Info:
Team Joseph is a non-profit organization whose mission is to aggressively fund cutting edge research to find a treatment or cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. It is our goal that when a parent hears a diagnosis of Duchenne, it is simply a manageable condition and no longer terrifying news. Our focus is on rapidly moving basic research into applications that can make a difference for the current generation of boys afflicted with this devastating disease as well as for generations that aren’t even born yet. We are a caring community of motivated people joined together in efforts to give young boys affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy, not only a chance at a better life, but simply a chance at a life.
The Crim info:
In August of 1977, Michigan House Speaker Bobby Crim and his assistant Lois Craig launched the first Bobby Crim 10 Mile Road Race. Little did they know that they were embarking on a journey that would change the City of Flint forever! In the 37 years since those first days as a race organization, the Crim Fitness Foundation has evolved into a highly regarded 501(c) 3 non-profit organization impacting the lives of thousands.
With great success comes great responsibility. The Crim Fitness Foundation is committed to serving a leadership role in advancing the national agenda for improving health in our nation’s communities. What does this mean? It means that the Crim believes we can be a catalyst for authentic change:
Run for the Kids who Can't Info:
Children with Duchenne fight every day to do so many things that the rest of us take for granted and never have to think twice about. What better way could there be to celebrate your own physical ability and desire to help us find a treatment for Duchenne than to Run for the Kids Who Can’t! We’re going to use our muscles to help boys whose muscles need a cure. It’s time to put on your running or walking shoes and hit the streets for our Duchenne kids!
You don’t have to be a serious runner (or any kind of runner!) to join in the fun. You can run or walk. Go fast or slow. Finish the race or not. Bring your family, your friends, your neighbors, your co-workers. The whole idea is to find a treatment for Duchenne and have a lot of fun along the way!
If you would like to participate in the run, please go to www.crim.org and register for the 10 mile race. The more the merrier...... it will be a lot of fun! Put on your running shoes and come join the team!!!!!
