Help us open the door to a brighter future for the homeless in Mid-Michigan.
City Rescue Mission is the largest homeless service provider in Mid-Michigan. Rescue Mission services include three nutritious meals, personal needs items, laundry services, needs assessment, case management and life skills training. It costs just $30 per day to provide life-changing services to homeless person.
Most often the needs assessment identifies education, vocational training and employment placement as the greatest need. The objectives of the employment readiness life skills classes are:
- to teach people the skills necessary to be successful in the Great Lakes Bay Region job market. Classes include communication skills, job interviewing and résumé building.
- to assist individuals who lack skills necessary for today's job market with developing advanced employment skills development.
- to assist individuals with job placement. Each participate meets with a Job Coach for further assessment. Based on the results the individual may be referred to ETC for vocational training or to Trillium Staffing and Successful Corporation for employment placement. Transportation to and from training or employment is provided by the Mission.
