BENEFITING: UNIVERSITY OF ROCHESTER
EVENT DATE: Sep 27, 2014
Every day 7 children lose their battle with cancer and another 46 children are diagnosed. September 27th I am running a 5k in support of Crosby’s Fund, a local charity supporting pediatric cancer research. In honor of these children, for the first 46 people that donate to my fundraiser, I will donate $7. Thank you for your support.
Crosby's Fund is a local charity for pediatric cancer research at The Wilmot Cancer Institute and Golisano Children’s Hospital at The University of Rochester Medical Center, located in Rochester, NY. Named for Crosby Wilmot, the Fund has been established, in close partnership with the Medical Center, to fund pediatric cancer research with a focus on neuroblastoma. This form of childhood cancer, which affects approximately 700 children a year, is particularly aggressive and unpredictable in nature. No child should ever have to face what Crosby faced during his illness. The goal of the Fund is to find more effective treatments for this disease and hopefully one day, a cure.
