Stuff About Me:

I am excited to announce that I will be racing in the 2015 Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) New York City Marathon on November 1!  This is one of the largest marathons in the world and runs through all five of New York City’s boroughs, starting on Staten Island and ending in Manhattan’s Central Park.

Why I Run:

Running gives me direction and definitive goals.  After completing my first marathon in 2012, I felt strong and had an overwhelming feeling of accomplishment. Running helps me to be the healthiest version of me that I can be.  My hope is to inspire my daughters to lead active and healthy lifestyles.  I enjoy sharing my love of this sport with others so that they can find that same joy.

Current goals:

Run every day of 2015.
Run a marathon in every state.
Join the 50 State Marathon Club by the end of 2015.

(Must have ran in at least 10 states to apply.)

States completed to date:

Alaska, California, Kentucky, Nevada, Massachusetts, Missouri, Hawaii, and Alabama.

Current Training:

On February 22, 2015 I ran in the Alabama Mercedes-Benz 26.2 mile Full Marathon and came in 2st place for women in my age group and 5th for women overall.  I am currently in the recovery phase but continue to run at least one mile every day to maintain a 2015 running streak.  Once my recovery phase is over, I will begin to rebuild my mileage in a new cycle of marathon training for the TCS NY City Marathon where I hope to set a new personal record.

Because the TCS New York City Marathon is very special, I have decided to join the Hall Steps Foundation Team so that my running can help fight global poverty. Through your contributions and my logged miles, our steps will help with their extraordinary cause.

Hall Steps Foundation’s Mission:

To take steps to end global poverty through better health.  To build communities and provide each member an opportunity to take their own steps toward relieving suffering and helping the poor rise out of poverty.

Right now the Hall Steps Foundations is working on another clean water project in Ethiopia which will change the lives in an entire community, extending families life expectancy, preventing illness, allowing young children to be able to attend school, and many other ramifications.

Nearly 1 billion people don’t have safe water to drink.
A child dies every 15 seconds from a lack of clean water.
115 people die every hour from diseases linked to poor sanitation, poor hygiene and contaminated water.
1 in 5 children who die before age 5 worldwide, die of a water related disease.
Children often walk miles every day to collect dirty water to drink.
Water related illness kills more people each year than wars and conflict.
It costs approximately $6,000 to drill a well.

I hope to raise $3,000 which will benefit their mission.

Please join our quest to fight global poverty.  For more information on how your donation is helping to make a difference in the lives of so many, we invite you to visit

Thank you for your encouragement and support,

Sincerely your Nomemite marathoner,
