THE STORY:
A DREAM
It would be a dream for me…, to run that day, I will explain why. 10 years ago, in March 2006, I was in NY with my wife, both as responsible for a festival of Spanish poetry. It was a magical days for us, unforgettable. Unfortunately, cancer took Ana, my wife, in March 2014. That same year I started running to keep quiet my thoughts, and I had the idea of doing a tribute to my wife running the NY marathon in 2016, running across the same streets and bridges that, just ten years ago, saw us walk together. At first it was a distant dream, but in 2015 I ran the marathon in Seville, and this year I have participated in my first mountain marathon. However, for work, I thought I could not run in NY in the edition of 2016, and had given up the lottery registration. I am a high school teacher in Spain. Then the capricious fate has again roll the dice: I have been lucky to get a teacher position in a HS of WV (Berkeley Springs High School), and I am working in the US from August 17 of 2016. For this reason it has become the dream of making a tribute to my wife.
I am very grateful to everyone who supported me in this adventure: my family, my friends, my new family of Berkeley Springs (go Indians!), Chus, Luna, Ulises and Sheima.
