EVENT DATE: Dec 01, 2014
Childbirth Survival International (CSI) is a 501(c)(3) international non-profit humanitarian organization registered in Maryland. CSI's work focuses on improving quality and accessibility of reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health services in marginalized communities. Currently CSI operates in Tanzania and Uganda. In Maryland, CSI collaborates with Pikesville-Owings Mills Rotary Club on community-based activities.
CSI is fundraising for upcoming World AIDS Day events in Tanzania and Uganda, on December 1st, 2014. Focusing beyond mother-to-child transmission to create an AIDS-free generation, CSI Uganda is collaborating with MildMay Uganda and Profam Royal Domiciliary Clinic engaging record number of boys and men in Wakiso District to Prevent beyond Mother-to-Child Transmission (PbMTCT). In Tanzania, CSI will join other NGOs in the Local Government of Ukonga Division with messages of infection prevention, early testing, adherence to treatment, and more.
CSI is breaking the barriers to ARV access, giving health education sessions and information, pulling down stigma walls and conducting free counseling and HIV testing on site, and more, contributing to MDG 6A &6B.
