Sarah teaches computer science
Organized by: Sarah Kyeremeh
One of the things I am very passionate about aside education is computer science. For me, computer science is a huge world filled with excitement and many opportunities. It is a world many do not know about, but a world that is very friendly and inviting. My name is Sarah Kyeremeh, a computer science student at the University of Houston. I am from Ghana, a West African country where computer science isn't as big as it is in the United States, and to me, that is a problem. I have a non-profit educational organization in Ghana, and this summer (2015) I visited my country and with my team we toured schools. The initial plan for me was to talk to the students about the STREAM (Science Technology Research Engineering Art Mathematics) field, but nobody knew anything about this field. In this age of technology, I believe every child should know something about the STREAM field and what better place to start than with computer science and an Hour of Code!
I am hoping to raise $1300 and this is how I will be using it
$1,200 will be used for plane ticket (Houston to Ghana)
$100 will be used for transportation to the schools and back home
All other expenses will be paid by myself!
