Izzy is a 7-month-old Siberian Husky puppy that was hit by a car. Her owners were going to have her euthanized but the vet asked if she could be turned over to rescue. She had surgery to repair her broken leg but the surgery did not hold and she is back at the vet's office. Her leg break is complicated and after consulting with the vet we have made the decision to amputate her back leg. All things considered, we think this is the best choice for Izzy and recovery time will be only a few weeks. She is very active and is already used to getting around on 3 legs. As you can imagine, the medical costs are high and rising. Our bill is several thousand dollars even before the amputation. Our other option is to euthanize Izzy and that is NOT an option for this sweet, active little girl. Several years ago we rescued a Siberian Husky named Tek. We had to remove his back leg and here is a video of how well he did with that leg removed: http://youtu.be/DqaLFxMRuds?list=UU0VFcmnRO1IAJTGzglipbwA
