THE STORY:

Cue Camp Mechuwana is a magical place for children who are deaf or hard of hearing. They can have clear and complete access to what people are saying around them via Cued Speech, some for the first time in their lives! For their families who have chosen to learn Cued Speech as a communication system for access to language and literacy with their child, cue camp is a place where access is an understood. Our Cue Camp is four days of learning to cue, meeting other children and adults who may use hearing aids or cochlear implants, meeting adult deaf cuers, and making new friends, all in the beautiful woods and lakes of Maine. Many families need financial support to cover the cost of camp registration and travel to the campground. Your tax-deductible contribution can help toward providing scholarships to a family of four (two adults and two children) which costs $600. Please help us make this summer experience one where families can gather and learn and have fun together without the financial burden of wondering how to pay for camp. Thank you for your generosity from the Cue Camp Mechuwana camp committee!
