EVENT DATE: Oct 23, 2013
I am planning a culinary adventure to Italy in October. It will be an adventure to expand my passion to help me gain experience and knowledge so I may open my own restaurant here in New York. I hope to learn the cultural I have embraced since I began helping my family cook our Christmas Eve feasts. I want to learn about the perfection of pasta. I want to feel love and appreciation for food picked with my own hands. I want to see truly how Italian food is about life and not just something good to eat. My culinary journey to Italy has been a dream of mine since I began school. I am currently doing everything I can possible think of to help me save money. On the weekends I head to an outdoor Flea Market. I pack up a table and stuff my car with items from my storage unit and hope to sell everything I have to get to Italy. I am working as much as I possibly can at any moment to help me save money. I even offer to go to friends and family’s home to cook them dinner instead of spending money to go out, they pay me to cook in their homes. Preparing for Italy has become a way of life for me. Rosetta stone is helping me learn the Italian language. Guide books and Italian food phase tourist books are now my morning readings. It is a dream that I will make reality.
I have created this page for my friends, family and supporting angels out there who would like to help a new chef’s dream come true. Times are rough, being a student has been rough and many sacrifices have been made to make my dreams come true. My trip to Italy is the last piece of this puzzle, and the beginning of the success of my life’s work. You can make a donation here and help sponsor my Culinary Adventure to Italy. I appreciate anything that is given and whole-heartedly thank you all for your generosity and support. There are tears in my eyes writing this now and I will continue to update this page so you can follow me as I plan my trip. Thank you for taking the time to read my page and to help me move along this culinary road I have eagerly walked upon since I was a child.
