2 year old Callie Castello was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. Callie needs your help!!! Everyone wants to help right?! We can all rally together to raise money for Callie and her family to ease the financial strain. The more we can raise the better, so we can help keep Callie's mama Megan home to be by her side. Treatment will be downtown chicago at luries for an extended period of time. Her plan requires weekly (and maybe more frequent) chemo and testing downtown. Parking, travel, time off work and huge medical cost add up so quickly that any amount donated will be helpful. Callie will have a long road ahead of her, but let me tell you, she is such a tough and feisty girl-cancer will regret ever touching her! Here is a note from Megan- " Kevin and I have had problems with Callie walking since a fall in early November. After seeing a pediatric orthopedic for weeks and then a pediatric neurologist for mri of her brain and spine, we have our answer to what has been going on with our peanut! After an X-ray of her right leg and some labs our lives changed at 1:30 am on 1/5/15 getting a call to pack a bag and bring her to Lurie children's ER because they believed she had leukemia. That day Callie had a lumbar puncture and a bone morrow biopsy to determine what type of leukemia she has, and a picc line placed. She also received interthecal chemo into her spinal fluid as a preventative if she had leukemia cells in her spinal fluid. We found out Callie has acute lymphoblastic leukemia and is B cell type and in the standard risk category for now. The Dr's tell us if your going to have leukemia this is the best kind to have and has a 95% cure rate with the chemo protocol! The Dr have also started her on iv morphine to help control the pain she has had since November, and believe in the next couple weeks she should begin to walk again! We can not express how much it means to us all the support and love that has been shown to Callie and our family! We appreciate it more then we can say! "
Lets rally together to cure callie !!!!
