We are joining the fight against Juvenile Myositis!
On January 17th, we are running in the St. Pete Beach Classic Half Marathon as part of Cure JM Foundation’s National Conference and Fundraising Event in St. Pete Beach, FL to help find a cure for Camden.
Camden was diagnosed with Juvenile Myositis when he was three years old and his battle with this disease has been long, hard and painful. In many ways, this disease has robbed him of the normal childhood he deserved and permanently damaged his long-term health. And while our battle with this disease has always been tough, despite all of the hardships, we know we are one of the lucky ones. Through the Cure JM Conference, we will meet other families who have been torn apart by the financial and emotional stress of this disease and, worse of all, parents who have lost their children.
Juvenile Myositis (or JM) is a disease that causes a child's own immune system to attack healthy tissue and cells, which can cause pain, weakness, inability to walk, disfigurement, organ failure and even lead to death. Juvenile Myositis can affect virtually any system of the body, the heart, lungs, skin, muscles, and more.
And there is no cure….YET!
But together we can make a difference. Please click here to give. Our family’s goal is to raise $2,000 for life-changing research.
