BENEFITING: HANNAHS HOPE FOR GIANT AXONAL NEUROPATHY INC
EVENT DATE: Jun 09, 2012
Giant Axonal Neuropathy (GAN) is a recessively inherited condition that results in progressive nerve death. GAN generally appears in early childhood and progresses slowly as neuronal injury becomes more severe. As the disorder progresses, patients typically become quadriplegics, dependent on a feeding tube and ventilator before dying typically in the second or third decade
Mary Tranchina Pizzuro is a long-time friend to me, and many other people.Mary's sons, Mike Pizzurro and Joey Pizzurro have GAN. Her family works hard, every single day, to offer care and support to the boys. Mary does a terrific job raising awareness of this horrendous condition.
Today is Mary's birthday. We thought it would be a great way to say "thank you, and Happy Birthday" to her by raising money for this cause. We hope that you'll want to join in and make a donation in her honor. We'll keep this going for a while in hopes of raising lots of money in celebration of her 50th!
Please take a minute to contribute! Thanks!
