BENEFITING: Cure JM Foundation
ORGANIZER: Cure JM Foundation
Our daughter McKenna was diagnosed with JDM Christmas week 2013. Unfortunately, due to the rarity of the condition and lack of education many children are misdiagnosed or not diagnosed until the symptoms cause permanent damage. Like many children with JDM, McKenna has been a brave little trooper through 23 months of steroid treatment, weekly injections and infusions. As she approaches her 6th birthday this December we will be celebrating how far she has come and the loving happy attitude she has maintained every step of the way. With your help, McKenna raised over $10,000 last November though this campaign and personal family donations to the foundation and we are truly greatful!!!
McKenna, has just had a very good visit with her Rheumatologist and we are going to try to stop the IVIG infusions at the end of January! So exciting :)
We hope, with your help, that during this season of giving that we can help raise funding to improve the lives of children suffering from JM and find a cure!
Please help us find a cure for the children suffering from Juvenile Myositis
Juvenile Myositis is a life-threatening disease affecting 2-4 children per million in the U.S. alone. Juvenile Myositis (JM) causes the body's own immune system to attack healthy cells and tissues, which can cause pain, weakness, inability to walk, disfigurement, and even death. JM can affect virtually any system of the body, the heart, lungs, skin, muscles, and more.
And there is no cure…YET.
But you can make a difference! Please give today and help find a cure.
Cure JM Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to finding a cure for Juvenile Myositis. Cure JM is the ONLY organization that solely supports Juvenile Myositis and is the largest charitable supporter of JM research. Over 90% of all gifts goes directly to fund research.
With the rarity of this disease, your gift is vital to permitting further studies into finding the cause, best treatments and a possible cure.
Our goal is to never, ever let another child suffer from Juvenile Myositis. And with your help, this goal is well within our reach!
