OUR MISSION - In support of the Children's Tumor Foundation, NF Endurance offers the opportunity for individuals to participate in team endurance sports to raise money for research, promote awareness, and provide a network of caring support for those suffering with neurofibromatosis and their families.
A BRIEF HISTORY - Anita Carter formed the NF Marathon Team as part of the National Neurofibromatosis Foundation, (which became the Children's Tumor Foundation in 2005) in the late 90s. Carter's son had NF1. The team was created as a fundraising arm and awareness generation tool for the foundation. In 2007 the NF Marathon Team became NF Endurance to encompass a variety of events and participants. The team has raised more than $4 million in revenue since 2004.
ABOUT ME - Running 26.2 miles is tough on anyone, but it becomes a lot easier when you consider the difficulties that young children with this disease face each and every day. I ran with the NF endurance team in the fall of 2008 when I ran my first marathon. I heard the heartwarming stories of this charity and the amazing works that they do. Having met some of these children with NF, it is impossible not to want to help them, and not to want to adopt their positive outlook! Will you help me meet my goal of raising $2,500?
