BENEFITING: National Tuberous Sclerosis Association Inc
Evan is 10 years old and has Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC). This is a rare disease that causes tumors to grow in vital organs, particularly the brain, heart, skin, eyes, kidneys and lungs. TSC is also the leading known genetic cause for both epilepsy and autism.
Evan began having seizures in his first month of life and by the time he was 4 years old he was having 300-400 seizures a month. At this young age he underwent brain surgery to control his epilepsy and he left the hospital seizure-free. He had freedom from seizures for almost 2 years and is now having them again, although less frequently. He also has kidney tumors we are watching.
Evan understands the importance of medical research and has participated in several research studies already. Most of these involved MRIs or blood samples and he has even donated his baby teeth for research! Without medical research there won't be new treatments or therapies. Please help Evan Unlock the Cure for TSC!
Thank you so much for your support!
