Once again the Custom Comfort Mattress Family is raising awareness & money for a very special cause as a partner in The Wells of Life 5k/Run for Water, and I'm asking you to help by making a contribution in anyway you can. Last year, thanks to the generosity of many of you, Custom Comfort Mattress raised over $7,000 which funded a well, while Wells of Life, raised over $122,000 which funded 22 wells! Together we changed the lives for decades of approximately 22,000 vulnerable people!
Our goal is to be able to raise even more awareness and the $6,000 needed, as a team, to build one well, to a community in Uganda, Africa. There is great power in giving blessings, not just for the recipient of the blessings, but also for the one giving the blessings—you! Through this opportunity countless lives and hearts have been changed and softened, including mine.
Thank you all so very much for your time and continued support!
The Walk will be on Sunday, April 23rd, and our goal is to help build a well!
Wells of Life: The Why
We believe clean drinking water is a basic human right for all people. We view the lack of water as the taproot of poverty in the developing world. By providing water to communities, we have seen a measurable step towards sustainable living, a decrease in water-borne illness, a 50% decrease in infant mortality, and the opportunity of schooling for children, especially girls and women.
Equally important is the opportunity for our local families to draw closer together through service. Being of service increases our empathy, humanity and appreciation for the gifts we have daily. Everyone has an opportunity to make a difference, to use their time, talent and treasures to save lives; and inspire their peers. Partnering with corporations allows everyone to play a part and promotes teamwork. This strengthens community and family bonding; and everyone becomes a champion of change!
When our local communities and school children place a “well of life” in a community in Uganda, they’re able to see photos of the villagers they are serving. There will be a dedication placque placed at the well with the donor's name and message. And the people of Uganda are able to see that their lives matter! Giving the gift of clean water is the most measurable act of love and service anyone can provide.
Wells of Life: The Who
We are a group of dedicated individuals committed to bringing clean, safe water to one million people in Uganda. And, we especially agree with Mother Teresa who said, “If you can’t save 100 children, save one.” We believe every life counts and we'll be an inspiration for others to take care of the remainder of the large number of people in need.
