Two adventurous companions (Stephanie & Christian) are setting off on a mission to complete a long distance cycling trip from Bilbao, Spain to Paris, France with a goal of giving back to lesser fortunate.
600 miles, 18 days, 2 bicycles, 1 charity.
"Lesotho (Africa) is often called “The Forgotten Kingdom”. In this mountainous country, orphans and vulnerable children make up 50% of the child population."
Faith Foundation, a local charity (founded by my dear friends father), supports these abandoned and abused children by providing a safe haven called Grandma's House (short term foster care facility). They also fund a scholarship program towards higher education and strive to provide children with school uniforms.
Through partnerships with child support groups, Faith Foundation is able to feed many children, inform children and caretakers about child's rights, and promote self-sustaining practices by introducing micro-enterprises (egg production, sustainable agriculture & gardening, uniform sewing) which help to empower the community and give children hands on experience.
With your help we hope to raise $5 for every mile we cycle. Of course, donations of any amount are greatly appreciated!
