THE STORY:

There are more than 19 million people living with various forms of physical disabilities in Nigeria. Challenge Your Disability Initiative (CYDI) mission is working with persons with disabilities (PWDs) to provide training, education, promote justice and minimize poverty suffering. CYDI is working to protect human rights with a pilot project in Bauchi, Nigeria.

Since its establishment three years ago, these are some of CYDI key achievements.

CYDI sponsored a bill to Bauchi State House of Assembly to protect and promote the rights of people living with disabilities that was signed into law.
CYDI signed Memorandum of Understanding with Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and First Bank Plc on Agricultural Development Trust Fund to provide soft loans for artisans (PWDs) to improve on their agricultural activities and marketing of their products.
CYDI partners with NACA in order to adopt a holistic approach to the problems of HIV/AIDS among PWD's.
CYDI has graduated over 200 persons with disabilities (PWDs) from its Skill Acquisition Centre.

CYDI has done much with little and can do more as we broaden our scope of capacity building to include reaching out to global communities, especially private and corporate entities. Our success in this fund-raising drive largely depends on you.

The purpose of this email is that CYDI is now at cross-roads we are attracting many more helpless people living with disability from many neighboring states. We cannot turn people back, because they have no where to return in many cases. We need your help.
